The Octamount snaps into a node socket on the OpenBCI Ultracortex EEG headset. It can securely hold either the OpenBCI board holder or one of the battery trays included with this kit. Additionally, it fits some generic battery cases without a tray by utilizing the provided screw holes. One of the trays accommodates the 4xAA battery case that comes standard with OpenBCI boards, while the other trays fit common LiPo batteries from Adafruit in capacities of 2500, 2000, and 1200 mAh. Since those batteries are too large to fit inside the OpenBCI case, they require an external solution - usually the 500mAh LiPo is used instead.
