Octahedron stool
thingiverse
CAUTION, STILL UNDER DEVELOPMENT This is an octahedron shaped stool consisting of 3d printed parts and wooden poles. It is designed to fit a 180x180 print bed perfectly. It is remarkably sturdy and completely safe to sit on even without glue, although gluing is recommended for added security. The current version is the first one I attempted to assemble, and there are some tolerance issues: the fit is too tight at certain points and it requires a bit of sanding, filing and grumbling to make center part tabs fit into segment slots and horizontal poles fit snugly in their holes. I will update it for easier assembly at a later time. Begin by assembling the top portion. When assembling segments and poles, start by inserting the poles to minimum depth, then gradually push them one by one with short movements on each side. When they are almost aligned, insert the center part and tighten the top together. Then assemble the bottom triangle in the same manner. Next, insert vertical poles into one side first, then the other, and secure it all with body weight. The original project file (Fusion360) can be accessed at: https://a360.co/2GZpsRB To assemble this stool, you will need: * top_segment - x3 * stand_post - x3 * top_center - x1 * pole D20 L403 (wooden or any other rigid tube) - x6 * pole D20 L257 (wooden or any other rigid tube) - x6
