Octahedron model kit

The project aims at developing a flexible 3D construction kit, similar to Legos but designed for complex solid geometry modeling. Currently, it features a vertex disk with four equally spaced notches and an edge piece with two rotating heads, each notched to slot into the vertex. To enhance expressiveness, vertex disks with three and five notches will be added, allowing models of tetrahedra, cubes, dodecahedra (with 3-notch vertex disks) and icosahedra (5-notch vertex disks). However, the octahedron remains elusive as it requires six vertices and twelve edges. The kit's components will be made from 3/16 inch diameter dowel rod and 1/8 inch thick wood, which will be laser cut after rescaling and cleaning up an SVG file. Assembly involves twisting the dowel through edge pieces and heads, followed by sanding for smoothness.
