NOT WORKING YET. The mouth piece still needs a lot of work. I drew this because I wanted to see if I could make one that worked right off the line without any modification whatsoever. My initial print was abruptly interrupted, and the one currently printing had two belts loose so it slipped all over the place, but otherwise it prints very well, even with a severe overhang that should have caused some major problems. I'm using a Printrbot Simple Maker's edition for this project. Update: I realized upon completion of the print that I forgot an essential part that directs the air onto the blade, and it really needs to be included. The files have been updated and a test print is currently underway. Instructions Designed in Autocad, I drew the basic shape flat, then extruded, chamfered, cloned and scaled the inside, which resulted in an incredibly intricate design, then rounded out the inside curve. I added the mouthpiece by extruding it to the same height, but forgot what command does a certain thing with chamfering. Anyway, I rounderd the outside, and put the whistle in, before adding the final touch of finger holes. To print it out, I set the rotation to exactly: x:90 y:67.5 z:45 It has a scale of 1.6, and it was imported as an inch file.
