I whipped up this oblique pen holder for calligraphy in about 20 minutes for a friend who's just getting into calligraphy. I was looking for a cheap oblique holder and found none, so I looked up some images as reference and quickly made the pen in blender. Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator (5th Generation) Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.1-0.3, depending on how smooth you'd like the final pen to be. Infill: above 20% depending on how much you want the pen to weigh Notes: Be sure to position it such that the slit at the end is vertical, or else it may become fused together during the print. You can find the sizes of standard calligraphy pens here: http://www.yokepencompany.com/pages/links. Just re-scale your pen using those sizes according to your preferences. Post-Printing: Making the flange: I used this video to make the flange: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNuvi-fdutE. This was a quick weekend job, so I used strips of soup can instead of the brass stock the video recommends. There may be some stringing in the slit, so run a blade through it a few times to break them.
