Oben ACM-2400 Monopod Repair Parts
thingiverse
These replacements are designed for the poorly built parts on an otherwise well-designed monopod, the Oben ACM-2400 four-piece monopod. Variations of this model may exist, but these worked perfectly for mine. Three pairs of shims are needed (one side of each pair has a bottom button, while the other side does not). I used all three with identical size shims to simplify replacement and kept spares in the camera bag along with an Allen wrench. Not having three sizes results in some extra rotational play before latching, but this is hardly noticeable. Once latched, these replacements work better than new. The bottom foot replaces the poorly designed original design (a soft rubber boot on a sharp metal tube) by fitting inside the tube. A future revision could feature a hollowed-out circle to mash a super-bounce ball into for added stability. To print the shims, turn off support and set 100% infill with "line" settings. I used PLA, which prints nicely and works well so far. ABS would be better due to potential exposure to high temperatures, but it may be challenging to get ABS to stick to the bed. The shims can be printed thicker and sanded for added strength, but they seem fine as is. Printing them takes about six minutes, making it easy to throw a bunch of spares in the camera bag. The foot could be made from a more flexible material, which would be great, but I'm limited by my low-end printer and available PLA stock. However, PLA has done just fine so far.
