Mounting the printer on 1/2" MDF was a notion I entertained, but it ultimately proved misguided. With the Z motor brackets suspended in mid-air, the entire setup teetered precariously, only to find stability and sturdiness courtesy of those very same brackets. The printer would greatly benefit from additional rails along the Y axis, yet the makeshift brackets performed admirably. I've included a selection of shims in varying sizes for insertion between the MDF and brackets, but some form of support will be necessary when printing the overhanging section.
