The revamped top tier of my prior printer, the OB1, is incorporated into this new model, utilizing some original components and extrusions in its design. This 1.4 version boasts an expanded build height equivalent to that of a Mendel Max and features an open-front layout, yet remains fully printable on an existing RepRap printer. The objective was to develop a larger-volume printer without the need for specialized parts, laser cutting, or CNC machinery. The "1.4" designation stems from the new side frames resembling the number '4'. If you already constructed the initial OB1 printer, many of its plastic components and extrusions can be reused in this upgraded model, which utilizes fewer extrusions; however, some will require trimming to size. Comprehensive assembly instructions are available on YouTube, with Part 1 accessible at youtu.be/WR5EMgwua-Q, Part 2 at youtu.be/PiuRKRwRDCY, and Parts 3 and 4 still in progress. The x-axis ends and carriage are undergoing beta testing and will be completed soon.
