Oar Holder For Boats
thingiverse
I was looking for a way to save space in my small 14 foot jon boat, this is what I came up with to store the oars on the side rails to free up space in the boat. I used M4 25mm bolt and nut to fasten the clamp together. The clamp covers should lock in sitting flush on the nut so avoid using a different length bolt or I guess you can do without the covers but the 2 big holes aren't exactly pretty to look at. I made the holes fairly large to be able to still use a socket to tighten the nut. You can print 4 sets and have your oars run parallel to the rail but make sure you keep the paddle end in the front to avoid the oars slipping down when your boat is moving forward. Otherwise if you have an oar lock, you can just use 2 sets by placing these clamps at the back of the boat so the oars go into the oar locks and then the paddle end goes into the clamps situated in the back of the boat. The clamps are made to fit snug on my boat, older (don't know what year) MirroCraft aluminum boat so you made need to make adjustments to make it fit. WARNING: As stable and solid as this print feels, it's still a 3D print so please be cautious, do not leave the oars in the holders when towing your boat after your done. I always take them off and secure them so they don't fly off while driving on the road.
