O Scale Horizontal Oil Tank
thingiverse
This is a design for end caps, feet, and a vent to make an O scale (1/48 scale or 1/4" to the foot) horizontal oil tank out of a piece of 1-1/4" Schedule 80 PVC pipe. It was printed on an Ender # Pro using grey filament and Dynamic quality. The length is set by the length of the pipe used. I printed the ends down on the bed without any adhesion (raft, etc.). I found the heated bed texture of the Ender 3 is ok for a surface and the fillets work up OK to be lightly sanded. The bases are two parts each and glued together. The end caps are slightly larger than the outer pipe dimension to be smoothly sanded after gluing into the pipe. I made the bands with some thin plastic strips and embossed rivets using a sensipress. They were shaped into a loop and glued on with Canopy glue. I included the FreeCad files as well. Ignore the version numbers (v5). I left them to make sure they are the final versions uploaded.
