O-Ring for Card Shooter
thingiverse
This is an O-Ring designed specifically to fit the Playing Card Shooter by LoboCNC, which can be found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:961084. As a complementary addition rather than a true remix, this O-Ring expands on the original design. Initially, I considered purchasing skate-bearings from Amazon but thought it would be feasible to print the O-Rings using flexible filament instead of buying them. Fortunately, my experiment was successful. I utilize the card shooter in my trigonometry classes during discussions about angular speed and linear speed. The relevant lesson is available at https://graspthemath.files.wordpress.com/2018/05/angular_linearspeed.pdf. To facilitate a better understanding of the gears' functionality, I printed one unit that disassembles easily to showcase its inner workings under a document camera. This prompted me to add black lines with a sharpie for enhanced visibility during demonstrations.
