O Gauge Train Tunnel Entrance
thingiverse
My son wanted this train tunnel entrance, so I printed it in three parts using Marble-colored filament. I split the print process at about 22mm on my Creator Pro to get the best brick resolution on the face without taking forever - a 19-hour print is just too long. Inside the arch, I installed a round LED socket that holds a 5mm LED light. The entrance has two standoffs in each upright to attach it securely to whatever tunnel structure you build with PVC sign board, which we used for our project. Update: After post-print assembly, everything fits together perfectly - the uprights and arch match up nicely. I also added new uprights with a hole for a face-mounted lantern that's included in the print job. The lantern was printed on high with support, but removing the support took some effort; still, the end result is great. By the way, I added an "S" to the arch for our last name - if you'd like me to add a letter to your tunnel entrance, just let me know and I can post the updated file.
