NXTAND - Adjustable Phone Stand
thingiverse
A simple, adjustable phone stand that's incredibly easy to adjust! Just turn the knob to readjust it to your desired angle! HOW IT WORKS: It functions by a small nut and threads that push the two pieces together seamlessly. They fit perfectly into place thanks to tiny notched designs on the face of contact. This allows users to easily twist the knob, readjust the stand to their preferred angle, and tighten the knob with ease. This design is part of a series of phone stands I call the NXTAND (the next stand). It's the most refined design in the entire series! Video of the stand in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9k8VL9JOAhE Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2X Infill: 20-40 Notes: No supports are required. Keep in mind that you may need to scale up the nut depending on your printer. I printed it on my Makerbot Replicator 2X and had to scale it up by 102%. Post-Printing: Acetone vapor I used a finishing technique that involves acetone vapor, which smooths the print's surface and gives it a professional finish. If you try this method, be careful not to leave it too long, as my first attempt caused the threads to become too smooth and no longer function properly. The model has triangular cut-outs through each piece, designed for hanging the model after an acetone bath. This helps keep the edges smooth during the drying phase. Notes: There's a small rectangular cut-out on the lip where your phone sits. If you find that your phone slips too much, fill this cut-out with some hot glue for added friction.
