NX32 Daylight-loading Film Developer
thingiverse
This is a horizontal implementation of a simple daylight developer based on the basic theory of operation used by Rondinax (35 non "U" version) along with some modern IoT sensor/automation integration. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/e1dd7QOLxg0" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> This system consists of the following usage modes & components: 1) Manual: Just using the daylight developer tank, which can be used manually (not unlike a Rondinax 35). The user must manually rotate the knob (magnetically coupled to the spindle) and add/pour out chemistry at the correct intervals. 2) Semi-Automated: Using a motorized-drive base (tank can be set on and removed at will) to automate film spooling, agitation, and temperature control. The user adds/pours out chemistry per protocol/timer. 3) Fully-Automated: Combining 1 & 2 along with an automated developer (shown in the video/previous thread) and its hands-off operation except for inserting film (and retrieving the leader if it's fully withdrawn). I'm hosting two versions, one with a single one-piece main body intended for 3D printing and another version with the main body segmented into three pieces to be machined from ABS or HDPE (this is what I did). The only 3D printed part in my prototype is the spindle.
