Nvidia Tesla K20 External Exhaust Fan Mount
thingiverse
This is specifically designed to fit the K20. It may work on other models, however, it has only been tested on the K20. If you can print this in one piece I would recommend it, but I couldn't so I printed it in two. The mount should be affixed to the GPU then the fan screwed on and powered. This brought my fanless temp from thermal throttle at 90c down to a cool easy-breezy 70c. So here's the life story with the recipe. I have a Dell R910 and wanted to do some deep learning on it, but the CPUs were just chugging along. I got a K20 to speed this up, but I really had to lay the hot glue on thick, if ya dig what I'm dishing, to get this to work. PCI cable extenders and the whole 9 yards. I ended up with the front end of the GPU sticking a good 4 inches out the back. After that whole ordeal, it worked really well, but because it was passively cooled, it was getting real hot. Enter this external fan. It is admittedly a really really dumb way of fixing this problem, but the thing works a treat.
