nVidia Shield™ K1 Sun Shield
thingiverse
This snap-on sun shield holder is designed for the nVidia Shield K1 tablet. Since I don't have an original Shield, I'm unsure if this fits perfectly or aligns properly with it. When using this holder, the headphone jack gets covered and can't be accessed. I created this holder to allow users to attach their Shield K1 to a DJI Phantom or Inspire series drone as a display screen. The center supports are aligned and have the correct width to fit into the tablet holder on the RC unit, as seen in the photos I've taken. My goal was to design a holder that can remain attached to the Shield while the sun shade can be removed, folded, and stored in a case or backpack with the tablet. To make this holder, I used standard black poster board from the dollar store (2 dollars for 2 sheets) and velcro dots also from the same store ($1 per pack). The total cost came out to around $3-$4, including filament. Although I flagged this as a remix of an original item, I only used a small section of its edge profile, and I'm giving credit where it's due for sourcing that profile. Unfortunately, my photos aren't great - my DSLR battery was dead, so I had to use my phone instead.
