This design is a simple adapter for mounting an Asetek 4th gen to a 1660 Super. In my case, I use a 1660 Super from Asus, the Phoenix version that has an awful cooler. Before this change on an open bench it did hit the thermal limit and drop down the GPU clock to something between 1700 and 1800. # BOM Pump Mount: - 4 M3 screws, I don't know exactly the length of the ones I used but with 10 cm ones you should be okay. - 4 plastic washers - 8 or more M3 nuts - 1 Corsair back mount - 1 Corsair front mount - 1 flashlight Pre-installation: Plan your tube routing and where are you going to mount the rad. This is crucial to know on what direction you need to place the pump on the card. Steps: 1. With the back plate, you need to place the 4 screws, secure them using 4 nuts and place 4 plastic washers to avoid them touching the PCB. 2. Place it on the card and put some thermal paste on the die. 3. Insert the front plate over the pump, there is a big slot to pass the tubing and cables. 4. Guide the pump mount over the screws and use 4 nuts to secure it, first don't tighten them all the way. You want to make sure it's centered and it's touching the thermal paste. 5. Start tightening the nuts in a cross pattern and use the flashlight to check when the thermal paste starts oozing out the sides. You want to make sure that it has good contact but it's not crushing the die. One idea: If you have 4 springs and a few metal washers, you can use the spring between the front plate and the nut to ensure the right amount of pressure on the die. # BOM Fan Mount: There is an optional fan mount for mounting the original fan of the GPU to cool down the RAM and VRM. For that, you will need: - 8 M3 nuts - 1 Corsair H55 OG Fan Mount (one of the two versions) - 4 of the original mounting screws that were used to mount the fan to the original plastic shroud. I didn't make holes for the screws of the fan because they were too tiny, and it was easier to mark them down and drill down a guide hole and make the threading by force. After this mod, the GPU is super silent, and on load, it doesn't go over 50°C. With some tinkering, I was able to undervolt it to 0.95 volts at 2055 MHz and +250 MHz on the RAM. Hope it helps someone with his build.
