NVG Raider (DIY NVG)
grabcad
IT'S HERE!!!This is a digital monocular night-vision goggle. It will use an action camera (like a GoPro) available on Amazon. This is intended to use with airsoft and will work best in a CQB environment. The following should be adjustable: the lens's distance from the LED screen, the goggle distance from the face, and the angle of the camera in reference to the face. Also, it should be able to attach to an M88 NVG Mount [Link at the bottom] with some modifications. Instructions for modifying the NVG mount:1. unscrew the bottom plate from the mount that moves forwards and backward. There is a spring in the plate behind the lever which you need, so don't drop and lose it.2. with the screws from the M88 mount, screw the part R-Mount where the plate was. Note: the bulging part of R-Mount is in the front and the screw holes go in the back. Make sure the spring is in R-Mount!The camera costs $24.99 on Amazon for the time being [Link at the bottom]. The lens I used came from a toy, so I have the Lens housing modified for a lens on Amazon, but I haven't tried it to see if it works.I'll also include a YouTube video on how to alter the camera so it can sense IR light. Note that you'll need to use a soldering iron instead of a heat gun.Parts List:Camerawww.amazon.com/dp/B07DVX1HQM/?coliid=I21MG7LDW7OY8W&colid=VXHX9ENZ0AVG&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it&th=1M88 NVG Mount (here's an example, but you buy whichever one that's built the same)www.amazon.com/zhuolong-Helmet-Adapter-PVS-14-Vision/dp/B08FMHSYVD/ref=sr_1_5?crid=1U246PO18BN0Y&keywords=M88+nvg+mount&qid=1684272736&s=electronics&sprefix=m88+nvg+mount%2Celectronics%2C142&sr=1-5Lens (updated 5/17/2023 22:30)www.amazon.com/Eisco-Labs-Glass-Lenses-Diameter/dp/B01F9KXRX2/ref=sr_1_4?crid=2MI4EOQCNF6D4&keywords=50mm+convex+lens&qid=1684376717&sprefix=50mm+convex+lens%2Caps%2C152&sr=8-4IR Senser video:www.youtube.com/watch?v=YuQnO1X0HY4Please READ!As of May 17th, 22:55 Eastern US time, I updated the Lens needed, the main housing file (replacing R-HM2 with R-HM2_GrabCAD), and uploaded the last STL files needed to finish the NVG.
