A Simple Handheld Hazelnut Cracker. I Designed It Specifically For The Tiny Hazelnuts Kids Bring Home From School Playgrounds. The Device's Main Component Is A Corkscrew Mechanism That Effectively Cracks Open Even The Smallest Of Hazelnuts Without Breaking Them. By Scaling Up This Design, One Could Easily Create A Larger Nutcracker Suitable For Bigger Nuts - But My Focus Remains On The Small Variety. To Ensure Maximum Efficiency And Durability, I Made Sure To Align The Screw And Box In Such A Way That Weak Points Are Avoided, Allowing For Smooth Operation. My Initial Prototype, Printed From Bottom To Top, Failed Due To This Alignment Issue. Fortunately, Adjusting The Alignment Improved Its Strength Considerably. The Downloadable -175 Files Contain Scaled Designs Suitable For Cracking Walnuts Up To 4.5cm In Size. However, I Haven't Had A Chance To Test These Yet As My Printer Isn't Capable Of Handling Such Large Prints.
