Nut housing for brass trapezoidal nut (12x3mm rod) for my CNC machine

This is a nut housing designed specifically for round brass nuts that are paired with trapezoidal stainless steel rods, measuring 12x3mm in my case. The diameter of the nut itself comes out to be 26mm while its height measures 24mm (refer http://www.maedler.de/article/64331200).\nTwo sets of these housings were printed for my compact DIN A4 ("2030") DIY CNC mill/laser machine, aiming to properly secure the acme rods on the Y table and X axis with nuts. The semi-open structure enables sliding the front half of the enclosure between the mounted table and nut for added flexibility. The back part remains the same.\nM6 bolts and corresponding nuts are required to assemble and fasten the part to the axis simultaneously.\nI deliberately left about a millimeter of clearance between the acrylic plate and the enclosure, making room for inserting a thin aluminum sheet to fine-tune the axis. Three layers of the aluminum sheet were needed for the Y table to achieve smooth movement.\nAdditional details on this project can be found at http://www.thinkering.de/cms/?p=19\nAs I type, I am using it with the latest version of GRBL for machining plywood. My CAD/CAM workflow includes Google Sketchup 8 in conjunction with SketchUCam V1.1e-beta plugin, which generates crisp and compatible Gcode suitable for GRBL's requirements.
