Designed jointly by me and two other members of the Northeastern University Mars Rover Team for our 6DOF arm and the new differential bevel wrist.(Belt Drive Differential Wrist)The initial layout and design was done by others, but I did significant iterations on it to get to the final version and features.Essentially, this is a traditional lead screw gripper, but the screws are mounted to the grips and the nuts rotate around them while stationary in the center, making the profile much smaller when it is closed. Uses cross axis helical gears to drive.Constructed of Formlabs SLS nylon and various resins, steel hardware and bearings.
