This machine, an adaptation of nUntitled, is designed for use as a plotter, laser engraver, or milling device. It's still under development and features a tolerance of 0.5mm. Currently, I'm employing Repetier firmware with the laser engraving option enabled. For slicing, I utilize a program discovered on this forum: http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=9773. To prevent Z homing issues, I incorporate "G28 X" and "G28 Y" commands in the G-code. In Ramps, to utilize the Z axis as an X axis, modify the stepper socket settings within Repetier firmware. ----------- UPDATE 12/2017 ------------- This project is discontinued! The structure failed to meet plotter and milling standards due to its inherent weakness. I've decided to abandon this project and initiate a new one. Thank You! In this update: The Z axis mechanism has been enhanced. A video showcasing my recent tests is available. Print Settings: Rafts: No Supports: No Infill: 25% Notes: Like all my projects, I utilize empty square rods (20x20mm), 8mm round rods, and M4 screws. The components include x3 - 605 2RS (5X14X5) bearings, x7 - lm8uu, and a complete list of parts may contain errors. The following are some custom components: nUntitled2DFanH1a - Fan mount (requires nUntitled2DFanH1b, 40x40 fan) nUntitled2DHingeR(L) - Hinge assembly for rods nUntitled2DLaser - Laser mounting system nUntitled2DMotR(L) - Motor holder for NEMA17 and round rods nUntitled2DYBelt - Belt system with LM8UU bearings and cable ties nUntitled2DYHingeA - Hinge assembly for round rods nUntitled2DYMotA - Motor holder for NEMA17 and round rods nUntitledCable - Cable holder for square rods nUntitledEndStop_x2 - Endstop with a 6x6mm PCB push button Additional components include GT2 pulleys, belt tensioner springs, timing belts, square tubes, and smooth round rods. Z calibration is currently incorrect. To achieve the fastest speed, set: Steps per mm: 50,000 Max feedrate: 0.2 mm/s Homing feedrate: 0 Max length: 25mm Axis acceleration: 1 mm/s^2 Axis travel acceleration: 1 mm/s^2 Z-jerk: 0.2 mm/s The Z axis components include: 55mm - "8mm round rods" (x2) 45mm - "5mm threaded rod" M5 nut Various M4 screws, nuts, and locknuts (~16) Modified "24BYJ48" stepper motor (info: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1434128 ) 5mm fuel tube or other coupler 6x6x5 push button for the endstop Custom Section
