Number Plate Ikea Kallax Light

Number Plate Ikea Kallax Light

I repurposed my old German motorcycle license plate by turning it into a heat sink mounting base for an LED light attached to an IKEA Kallax shelf. The LED is a Sumbulbs 94x50mm 12V COB, which I sourced from Aliexpress. To power the LED, I used a 12V adapter but found that it ran hotter than expected. Since I didn't have a current limiter on hand, I used a diode to drop the voltage by 0.6V. The number plate is approximately 107.6mm in size and can be scaled up or down as needed to accommodate different LED sizes. To print the front part of the mounting base, I printed it upside-down without support, but to make the overhang work, I added a pause at 3mm (M25) into the G-code file. When the printer pauses, I insert the number plate and press continue. The back part is printed on its side with no support needed.
