The first example of a statue erected in honor of a living writer sparked outrage due to Pigalle's unconventional approach. The artist unapologetically portrayed the frail, naked body of an elderly man without attempting to idealize it. Voltaire surprisingly submitted to Pigalle's vision, embracing artistic freedom. Nevertheless, the beauty of the expression on the subject's face and the dynamic pose compensate for the decrepit body, exemplifying the triumph of intellect over physicality. This artwork is part of the "Scan The World" initiative, a non-profit project launched by MyMiniFactory to create a comprehensive digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe.
