Introduction ========== This custom accessory was designed for a Louis Poulsen lamp that we recently purchased. The lamp features three small (2mm) holes drilled into its surface, and I thought it would be an excellent opportunity to add some personality to the lamp. The design I aimed for was something that would evoke the futuristic aesthetic of the Fallout Games, reminiscent of the Nuclear Age. The Design ========== My plan when designing this accessory was to use nuts to secure the top screw in place, while also incorporating spacers that slide into specifically designed indents. However, as the supports filled out the indentations for the spacers and the holes for the screws were sufficiently sized to be threaded by the screws themselves, no additional nuts are required. Parts Needed ------------- Please refer to the image above for a detailed reference of the required parts: Screws: 4pcs M3x6 1pc M4x20 Spacers: 2pcs M3x15 + 6 2pcs M3x15 Fastening the Gizmo to the Lamp -------------------------------- There's a small nub on the bottom part that slid through the hole in the lampshade. To secure the gizmo, a small burning torch was used to heat up a screw, which can then be "riveted" onto the inside of the lampshade by pressing the hot screw against the plastic, effectively melting it as a rivet.
