Nuclear Launch Power Switch Case
thingiverse
It's extremely convenient having a power switch for your printer right at your fingertips, but mistakenly cutting off the power in mid-print can definitely put a serious damper on things. So, to prevent such disasters, let's get that power button protected with a highly secure nuclear-missile-launch-button-style case! Instructions This robust case is crafted into 3 distinctive parts and makes use of the simplest form of hinging imaginable. The switch it was specifically designed for happens to be Adafruit's sleek, illuminated on/off toggle (available at https://www.adafruit.com/products/1443). The cover of this secure case features 2 cleverly-designed legs that snugly fit into the bottom case to create the pivot point for the hinge. However, these two extensions had too much overhang and my printer couldn't manage to print them entirely. As a result, I resorted to turning the STL file on its head within my slicer software and began printing it leg-first all the way up until the part where my first layer would typically fail. Once printed, I simply gave it some fine-tuning sanding before reuniting the two pieces with some durable adhesive.
