NUC Mount
thingiverse
A versatile mounting solution for Intel NUC PCs relies on a small shock cord to secure the computer in place. A downloaded and printed model allowed the NUC to snap into position, but retrieving the PC was challenging due to limited accessibility. This setup proved effective only with short or tall NUC models lacking adaptability. This design accommodates both short and tall NUCs by utilizing a scalable approach. To optimize compatibility with the taller NUC, it is recommended to cross the shock cord at the corners, effectively keeping the cord out of the way of all connectors. The mount is compatible with multiple Intel NUC generations, including 5th, 7th, and 8th gen models, which all seem to fit seamlessly. Additionally, it works for Gigabyte Brix PCs, specifically the 5th gen model. However, users should be aware that scaling may affect the VESA mount holes' accuracy. To avoid this issue, consider zipping tying your NUC directly to the desk legs instead of relying on the VESA holes. This mounting solution has potential for improvement and customization, making it an interesting starting point for further development.
