NUC 4th gen. Vented Cover

NUC 4th gen. Vented Cover

This is a custom cover designed specifically for the 4th generation Intel NUC computer model #d34010wyk, replacing the top panel of the standard case. One significant trade-off with this modification is that you will lose access to the WiFi antenna, which was integrated into the original top panel. Since I personally don't rely on WiFi connectivity for my NUC setup, this wasn't a major concern for me. To create this custom cover, I printed the button and lens components using transparent black PLA material, allowing the power and activity LEDs to shine through clearly. To secure the lens in place, I employed super glue as an effective fastening method. It's worth noting that during printing, you will likely need to use supports on your print bed for the button component. Overall, this modification has helped keep my NUC running cooler and quieter than before, and I hope it can have a similar positive impact for those who choose to implement it.
