NUC 10 Short version HDD Expansion
thingiverse
I design this HDD expansion because I've bought the short version of NUC10 which does not have a HDD bay and regretted after. You'll need to get the HDD cable from: https://www.gorite.com/intel-nuc-internal-fpc-fcc-22-pin-sata-power-cable-for-2-5-inch-drives Print as below: 1 x NUC10 Expansion 1 x HDD Bracket 4 x NUC 10 Screw Extension NOTE: You might want to print a few NUC 10 Screw Extension @ 100% as they are pretty fragile and might break when screwing it in. Best to print on SLA but I've done it on FDM printer. Installation: 1) Remove NUC base 2) Slow and gentle screw in NUC 10 Screw Extension into existing chassis BE CAREFUL you might break it halfway. You can always remove computer from the chassis to remove the broken part otherwise just drill it out. This step will give the printed screw extension part some thread in case you can't print it at high resolution. 3) Remove NUC 10 Screw Extension from chassis and install it on original metal screw. This step will give the inner part of printed screw extension some thread. Install it fully onto the metal screw. 4) Remove the thermal pad on the backplane relax your M2 wont overheat. 5) Install HDD bracket on the backplane (the 2 holes should fit onto the monitor mount thing). 6) Install the cable and chuck everything in. 7) Screw the backplane back onto the chassis. DO THIS GENTLY don't overtighten it as you might break the screw extension. Just screw in just enough that the expansion doesn't wobble. 0000) Basically install the printed screw extension on the original screw then install the HDD Bracket onto the back plate then install the expansion then screw everything gently. Sorry guys I'm not too good at explaining but you guys are smart enough to figure out :)))
