I've got too much on the go to try rebuilding my entire carriage, so I threw together a simple adapter so I can just swap out my original extruder for an NSTT. It mounts into the extruder with M3x25mm bolts, and I'm using M5 nuts and bolts to connect to the base plate. My hotend mounts a bit forward, so I gave it an angle to move the motor back tilt the center of gravity into the carriage. I could probably have gone with 20 or even 25 degrees. You can tweak the OpenSCAD file easily enough if that's a problem.
