Nozzle Storage Chest - Multimaterial
cults3d
This model was the winning entry in E3D Toolchanger STL Design Competition April 2019. https://twitter.com/E3DOnline/status/1119308448565473281 As a 3D printing enthusiast, I've created a treasure chest to store your valuable nozzles safely and securely. This chest can hold up to 15 standard E3D V6 6mm threaded nozzles. The design uses four different filaments and prints in place. The model relies on three standard PLA filaments for the main structure, while the fourth filament is a flexible PLA used in four key areas: 1. Flexible hinges that allow smooth opening and closing of the chest. 2. A flexible lip around each nozzle hole, making it easy to push in or pull out nozzles without any hassle. 3. Friction-fit labels for easy identification of each nozzle. 4. A non-slip base that prevents the chest from sliding around. If you don't have access to multi-material printing capabilities, you can still print this model in a single color of PLA. The multi-colored version shown above is an older design, but it's similar to the current version with only minor tweaks. Please note that the model has been confirmed to function correctly after being printed in single color. Regarding the photograph above, I apologize for the under-extrusion and missed layers visible on some parts of the print. Unfortunately, I encountered a clogged nozzle early on, which led to these issues. However, I'm looking forward to upgrading my MMU2S soon and attempting another 20-hour print.
