Novolin Insulin Case
thingiverse
UPDATE: I've successfully printed this in flexible materials like Ninjaflex, and honestly, the flexible version offers better protection! I've also made a "slim edition" of these with a larger viewing window - check it out here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2882427 I've designed a simple two-piece case for insulin vials, specifically dimensioned for Novolin (N and R), but they might fit other vials if you send me their dimensions, and I can modify them to fit. There are two versions available - one with 2 windows and one with 6. More windows give a better view of how much insulin is left, but only 2 windows provide the highest amount of rigidity. To assemble the case, first, press-fit the cap around the head of the vial (rounded side up), then slide that into the vial. You might need to sand it depending on your printer, but it should be very snug to avoid slipping out. I recommend using PLA or PETG to avoid shrinkage, but I've successfully printed in ABS too. To remove the vial, simply push from the hole in the bottom with either your finger or a blunt tool that won't scratch or break glass. This design was able to withstand a full under-hand toss on the street with no damage to the vial and only slight scratching on the case - I don't know its full strength, but it's plenty strong for everyday life. Print Settings: Printer: Wanhao i3 V.1 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.15 - 0.25 Infill: 30% Notes: No supports or brims are necessary.
