A project inspired by Scrollsaw Woodworking & Crafts Issue No.41's holiday 2010 edition features a traditional set of chess pieces. The lighter designs were crafted by Roland Schneider. Using Solidworks 2016, the model was created while Simlab Composer 7 Mechanical Edition handled rendering. PhotoScape generated the GIFs, and IrfanView edited the renders. Both animated and non-animated versions are available in various formats like 3D-PDF, ZIM, and SIMLAB that can be viewed on IOS and Android devices with Simlab Viewer app. The model is accessible in Solidworks 2016, Simlab Composer 7, DAE, STEP, IGES, Parasolid, OBJ, 3D-PDF, SketchUp, 3DS, and ZIM.
