Not so ugly Mr Door Stopper
thingiverse
I was amazed by Roland's Mr Door Stopper design, so I planned to print one as soon as I acquired a printer. However, my plans were delayed due to the numerous fascinating projects on Thingiverse! Eventually, I stumbled upon TheronRogers' brilliant idea of hanging the door stopper on the door handle when not in use. This led me to create the Not-so-ugly Mr Door Stopper version. For my initial print, I opted for a single shell with 3% infill and 0.27mm layer height to check the dimensions accurately. It took slightly less than 2 hours to print, and it appears sturdy enough for its purpose. However, I plan to increase the infill percentage to 5% for future prints and possibly use double shells for added durability. I also discovered that using the shiny side up offers a slightly rougher surface, which provides better grip on carpets and reasonable traction on tiles. Additionally, ensure you hang the door stopper on the side of the door away from the jamb to prevent it from obstructing the jamb zone. I initially considered adjusting the center of gravity or arm length but realized hanging it on the opposite side was a simpler solution!
