Nose secretion aspirators for babies
thingiverse
This is a mouth-operated nose secretion teat for babies. Cold and phlegmy babies are a nerve-wracking thing. As babies can't blow their noses yet, parents need to provide them with a tool. This device resembles a gas washing bottle. On one side (the larger end) is the inlet. Air sucked in by the mouth flows into a collecting container. The inlet there is much lower than the outlet, so the secretion collects there and can't be sucked in by mistake. A silicone tube with an inner diameter of 6 mm can be attached to the outlet, for example. This can then be used for suction. The larger end is pressed firmly against the baby's nostril. Parents take the end of the tube in their mouth and suck on it strongly. The nasal secretion is sucked out and collected in the collection container. In principle, it should also be possible to connect the nose aspirator to a vacuum cleaner using an adapter. But I haven't dared to do that yet, fearing I might suck the brain with the vacuum cleaner. "His brain is gone!" - McCoy to Kirk, as Spock lies unconscious in sickbay. To prevent sucking in false air, the collection container fits very precisely on the nasal aspirator. Depending on how well the printer is calibrated, the contact surface may need to be reworked.
