A four-week university project requires a meticulous approach, particularly when it comes to mobile specifications with strict guidelines. The finished product must adhere to an 8000 triangle limit, allowing for flexibility of +/- 500 triangles. Both the titan and weapon models necessitate normal maps, as well as emissive maps if required. To circumvent the pixel limitation on texture sheets, I opted to work in a higher resolution – 2048x2048 – before scaling down to retain maximum quality. This process allowed me to maintain the finest details possible within the given constraints. The models were textured using 3D-Coat software. Upon completion, the titan model boasted an impressive 7182 triangles, while the gun model featured a respectable 920 triangles. In total, the final product consisted of 8102 triangles, meeting all requirements and exceeding expectations.
