Northern Pike 36" Wood Firewall
thingiverse
I've printed and assembled this, and it fits the plane perfectly as expected (check out those terrible photos). The firewall may be slightly too large for the mounting bracket, but that's intentional so you can trim or sand it down to size if needed, depending on your printer's tolerances. The Northern Pike is a fantastic-looking 3D printed R/C plane, but I'm not comfortable with motors being mounted directly into plastic, no matter what material is used. So, I designed this alternative motor mount to let you use a wooden firewall cut from hobby ply alongside the standard cross-style aluminum motor mounts. This setup should handle high-performance motors much better than ABS or PETG, while still keeping the original style and allowing for easy motor swaps.
