Gypsum wall panel relief depicts a formal scene showcasing Ashurnasirpal II as a conqueror wielding a bow and arrows, flanked by protective spirits that shield him from harm. He is also seen holding a bow and bowl, surrounded by human attendants who cater to his every need. The sandals on the king's feet are colored black with bright red soles, while the royal garments feature decorative borders adorned with intricate designs of a winged protective spirit wearing a two-horned cap and a man-headed winged lion. An inscription written in cuneiform script adds depth to this captivating scene. This panel is part of a larger group that portrays the king as a conqueror armed with bow and arrow, and also holding a bow and bowl, flanked by attendants who stand by his side. Ashurnasirpal II's North West Palace, Room G Panel 6 dates back to between 865 - 860 BC. This panel was discovered in the same palace, specifically in Room G Panel 6 at Nimrud. The relief measures an impressive height of 232.41 centimeters and a width of 224.79 centimeters, making it a stunning visual representation of ancient Mesopotamian art.
