With a single jet turbine engine, it boasted high maneuverability and reliability in combat. Developed from mid-1940s to 1949, 7,800 F-86 Sabres were produced till 1956. The last operational F-86 was retired in 1994 by Bolivian Air Force. Over 9,800 examples were built across US, Canada, and Australia, making it the most prolific western jet fighter.
