Known as an American supersonic jet fighter, the North American F-100 Super Sabre was used by the US Air Force (USAF) from 1954 to 1971 and later by the Air National Guard (ANG) until 1979. The F-100D is a single-seat fighter-bomber with advanced avionics, larger wing and tail fin, and landing flaps; it served in Vietnam as a low-level bomber supporting ground forces. On the other hand, the F-100F is a two-seat training version that has reduced armament from four to two cannons.
