The AT-6 was an armed variant of the T-6 Texan designed by North American Aircraft. During World War II, it served as a dual-purpose trainer and ground attack aircraft for the Army Air Forces, Navy, Marines, and other allied forces. The equipped version (AT-6) typically featured two 30-caliber machine guns mounted in the nose ahead of the cockpit and one or two 30-caliber machine guns positioned in the rear-facing gunner's seat. These aircraft were sold to private pilots after being decommissioned and repurposed as trainers, aerobatic planes for air shows, and restored to their former glory.
