The AT-6 was an upgraded variant of the T-6 Texan, produced by North American Aircraft, designed specifically as a trainer and ground support attack aircraft for the Army Air Forces, Navy, Marines, and other allied forces during World War II. The armed version (AT-6) typically featured two 30-caliber machine guns in the nose, directly in front of the cockpit, and one or two 30-caliber machine guns in the rear-facing gunner's seat. These aircraft were sold as surplus to civilian pilots and utilized as trainers, aerobatic airplanes for air shows, and restored.
