The AT-6 was a heavily armed version of the T-6 Texan designed by North American Aircraft. During World War II, it served as both a trainer and a ground support attack aircraft for the Army Air Forces, Navy, Marines, and other allied forces. The armed version (AT-6) typically featured two 30-caliber machine guns installed in the nose section of the cockpit and one or two 30-caliber machine guns positioned in the rear gunner's seat. These surplus aircraft were purchased by civilian pilots and utilized as trainers, aerobatic planes for air shows, and restored to their original condition. Today, the AT-6 and T-6 are privately owned and operated.
