These clamps are specifically designed for supporting straps on steel frame bikes, intended for use with frame bags like Apidura Expedition or Ortlieb, Revelate Designs, and similar brands. The main functions of these clamps include: - Increasing the effective diameter of tubing to allow straps to be used at their optimal lengths - Providing better support for the frame bag at full-width and preventing it from bunching inwards - Protecting tubing from rubbing by covering any exposed areas - Preventing straps from sliding longitudinally along the tube These clamps are compatible with ~32mm tubing. When printed with TPU flexible filament, they will be shock-absorbing and extremely durable. To attach these clamps to a bike's frame, I experimented with various methods but ultimately decided on using tape for simplicity and reduced diameter requirements. Installation steps include: - Wrapping electrical tape over the tube to protect it from abrasion and improve grip - Bending the clamp over the tube and placing it in the correct position, ensuring the slot faces downwards - Firmly squishing the clamp onto the tube and wrapping a tight layer of electrical tape around it to secure the clamp - Wrapping frame bag straps around the clamp and securing them tightly.
