Norco RPC-4308 Fan Shroud
thingiverse
I have a Norco RPC-4308 chassis for my NAS, but the hard drives run too hot because there's no airflow around them. I've designed and built this fan shroud using magnets to mount it, with 4x Noctua NF-A6x25 5V fans. I split it into two halves to fit in my printer and joined the halves with screws. The magnets are epoxied in place, and I cut the fan wires together into a USB A male cable. The fans draw about 250mA each, so all four of them draw 1A, which my motherboard handled easily on the front ports. You'll need the following parts to complete this build: * Epoxy * 6x 3/4" x 1/8" Rare Earth Circular Magnets * 4x Noctua NF-A6x25 5V fans * 2x 4-40 x 3/4 Flat Head Machine Screws * 1x 4-40 x 3/8 Flat Head Machine Screw * 1x USB A Male cable * Zip Ties
