Nonna Luisa Ravioli Press

My mother in law was frustrated with the ravioli presses on the market. She had one custom made by my father in law years ago on a CNC but no one kept the design so I've recreated it with some upgrades. It will be 3d printed this time and coated in food safe epoxy.

The design is for a 2x6 ravioli press but the design is configurable for various sizes and best of all, you can stack multiple prints using magnetic inserts so that regardless of your bed size you can make what right for you.

It was designed in OpenScad and is fully parametrized so you can adjust just about every dimension.

Gift box for this and my other pasta presses: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3539286

See some of my other designs for anolini, empanadas, and mini ravioli:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3442027
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3515645
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3515671

Edit 4/4/2019: Added a molding tray that you can use to quickly form the concave void you fill your raviolis with. This saves time and allows for more robust filling. It is a separate stl.

Edit 3/24/2019: Added support for magnets to be glued into the press allowing you to chain together several of these to make a long press. This is handy if you have a dough machine (like a Kitchenaid) which makes long dough.

Edit 3/6/2019: Updated with a new option for 'tab_size' which leaves 2 small (2mmx2mm) tabs when cutting the ravioli. This is useful if you freeze your pasta after making it as it will allow the pasta to stay evenly spaced until it freezes. The tabs can then just be broken by hand for putting pasta in a ziplock or for cooking.

Edit 2/28/2019 - Added a large version with 10 Ravioli in a single press. Also greatly improved the design's printability. It no longer needs support!

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

MK3

Printer:

Prusa i3

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

.25 recommended

Infill:

10%+ gyroid, 3 Perimeters

Filament:
Amazon Basics ABS/PETG Recommended but PLA can work if you don't wash it in hot water.
