Nonconductive wrench with wingnut tightener slots
thingiverse
A sturdy, nonconductive wrench with interchangeable 1/2 and 9/16 inch sockets takes pride of place at the top. Functional notches for tightening wing nuts make it stand out from the rest. Deep-discharge marine batteries and deep-discharge golf cart batteries call for this precision tool in my work. **UPDATE, March 27th, 2023: I took it a step further by adding an SGV variant of this for a precision lasercutter, carefully cutting it into 1/4" Delron. The outcome is vastly stronger than its original version. For extra readability, colored silicone caulk takes the place of lettering. It works just fine if you print it out in ABS and need to exert some serious force. Still, when printed, plastic wrenches come across as fantastic but utterly too weak for real-world applications. They're wonderful novelties indeed! The functionality gets a slight boost from using ABS with no support structure in place during the printing process. **Cleaning tip: If you see any residual ooze getting stuck into the wing nut slots on the bottom of your tool, use a damp cloth or gentle brush to clean out the areas thoroughly. Make sure the wing nuts still slide smoothly as part of a quick maintenance check before finalizing the setup.
