Non-Intelligent Smoke detector
thingiverse
We are building two different smoke detectors, this one and another that we'll do later which has additional features including Arduino integration. This basic smoke detector is extremely simple, consisting of just basic components wired together, and it's incredibly affordable. For this particular project, I didn't use any complicated designs or add-on boards; instead, I relied on standard off-the-shelf parts. You can download the EAGLE files we used to create this project. These files serve as a reference for how the individual components are connected, rather than a fully realized schematic. I decided to add a standalone relay card since the one included with the smoke detector has limited current capacity. Unlike other models, this device doesn't come equipped with a low-battery alert system. If the battery dies, the detector will simply stop functioning. You'll need the following components: 1.- TOOGOO 1Channel Optocoupler Relay Module (available at https://www.amazon.com/Relay-Module-TOOGOO-1Channel-Optocoupler/dp/B01GO4NURU) 2.- Amazon Product Link: Smoke Detector Sensor Module for Arduino & Raspberry Pi - B01F1344CK 3.- Power Strip Also required are a few standard supplies: -power strip -CAT 5 ethernet cable (for connectivity between the control box and the smoke detector) You'll find all these components in stock at our recommended Amazon storefront. The Control Box Design This device consists of two parts: The Sensor box and the Control Box, connected by whatever length CAT 5 cable is desired. We powered the control box using a standard 9v battery for simplicity and efficiency It connects directly to a power strip, where it will cut off power when smoke detector signals that there's a potential fire
