Non-iambic Morse code key with paddles V2
thingiverse
I designed an improved paddle several years ago, but decided to refine it and make the paddles more secure, leading to this V2 model of my original non-iambic paddle. This design leverages a portion of a common hacksaw blade as the spring for the key. It's based on a desire to create a portable radio configuration where I wanted a small, disposable key that could be easily produced. Simply print the model, add a hacksaw blade and a few screws, and you'll have a functional keyer - it may not be the best keyer in the world, but for about $1 in parts and some 3D printing, it gets the job done. There are two versions of the paddles available. One version can be glued to each side of the blade, while an improved version slips down over the blade and then can be glued on. The enhanced model also features a contoured end that may offer additional benefits. A picture of the key mounted to a clipboard is included.
