This design aims to tackle multiple concerns with the original filter media inserts. By streamlining the component count and minimizing direct contact between the filter and surrounding components, this redesign eliminates potential problems. Moreover, it prevents users from inhaling particles that might be dislodged from cut edges of the filters during replacement, thereby avoiding contamination of internal surfaces. The inclusion of a ridge around the perimeter ensures a tight seal between the filter and the body, while the outer flange effectively covers any exposed cut edges to prevent moisture wicking into the system. This design can be easily scaled in both the X and Y axes to accommodate varying thicknesses of filter media.
